UKCA Marking Deadline Extended by UK Government

The UK Government have extended the deadline to have the UKCA mark in place on products being sold in the UK for two years until 1st January 2025. Previously the deadline was 1st January 2023.

Since 1st January 2021 all non-UK manufacturers must have a representative established in
the UK in order to comply with current product legislation. Please see our FAQ’s for further advice on this.

The Government has recently announced that it will continue to recognise the CE product marking in Great Britain for a further 2 years, allowing business to use either UKCA or CE markings.

This new legislation will be introduced to support manufacturers who were struggling to meet the previous deadline and will give some extra breathing space.

From 1st January 2025 products will need to have a UKCA label. However, until 31 December 2027, this can be a temporary UKCA marking label on the product or accompanying documentation. From 1st January 2028 all products must be permanently marked with the UKCA logo in accordance with legislation.
